The woman that’ll set fire to her husband’s heart. Her brother has done unthinkable damage to Lucien’s family, and he intends to exact revenge in the one and only way remaining: Ruining his enemy’s sister, then stealing her away from Blackmore by making her his own. Hatred, and not love, pushes Lucien Wyatt, Viscount Atherbourne, to tempt this “Flower of Blackmore” into sin. Except, possibly, this dark stranger on a terrace at a ball where she really shouldn’t be kissing some man that she’s just met.

Surely nobody would suspect her secret longing for head-spinning and heart racing passion. That’s all in a day’s work for the oh-so-proper sister of the Duke of Blackmore. Smile as though this isn’t the thousandth time he has mentioned hunting and hounds? Agree to marry some lord that has yet to ignite a single, solitary tingle? Of course. Life for Victoria Lacey really should be perfect. “The Madness of Viscount Atherbourne” is the first novel in the “Rescued From Ruin” series and was released in 2015. She copes with it by telling herself that everything is fixable once it has been written, however it’s impossible to fix and empty page. It is a tough affliction born out of the delusion that perfection really is possible. In Elisa’s case she doesn’t suffer from writer’s block so much as she gets a virulent disease known as procrastinitis. His struggle for redemption started in “The Truth About Cads and Dukes”, so she figured why not finish the journey and give readers what they’d been clamoring for? Turns out, Colin’s story foreshadows and connects a bunch of future storylines. He frustrated and intrigued so many readers in the first two novels, and many were eager to see him either punished or redeemed. But she had not really planned on writing Colin’s story (“Desperately Seeking a Scoundrel) so early in the mix. Other things she likes include strong coffee, cute dogs, and epic movies.Įlisa started the “Rescued From Ruin” series with certain stories mapped out already and characters mostly formed. She lives in the gorgeous Pacific Northwest, where you are constitutionally required to like gray and green. Frankly, she just figures better late than never. Although that was before Elisa finally woke up and began dreaming about the very unreal job of being a romance novelist. After graduating with degrees in history and creative writing, she spend far too many years in “real” jobs writing T-shirt copy, other people’s resumes, and articles about giftware displays.

But writing them? That took a little bit longer. Reading romance novels came quite easily to Elisa Braden.
